Dissemination conference in Istria Region

The Istrian Development Agency held a conference the 16th of June in the headquarters of Pula to present the results of Life Sec Adapt project. The conference was attended by Istrian municipalities and representatives of the Region of Istria with the President Valter Flego.
Director of Istrian Development Agency Boris Sabatti emphasized that this was a very significant project, with the help of EU fund LIFE from which was secured 7 million HRK for increasing energy efficiency and strengthening the environmental protection in the territory of the Region of Istria.

The Istrian cities of Buzet, Labin, Pazin, Poreč, Pula and Rovinj are signatories of the Covenant of Mayors and were first in Croatia to develop Strategies and Action Plans for Climate Change (SECAP) as part of the LIFE SEC ADAPT project. With these plans envisaged concrete and long-term measures to ensure an ecologically, socially and economically stable environment for the present and future generation in Region of Istria.
“With this project, Region of Istria continues to think strategically” said President Flego, emphasizing that prevention itself is crucial with numerous examples of good practice from Istria and continuing the cooperation with cities on climate change adaptation.
