Municipality of Pesaro

Position and climate
Pesaro is a medium-sized city of Marche Region, in the centre of Italy, populated by around 95.000 inhabitants and is the second city for number of inhabitants of the region. Pesaro is bathed by the Adriatic Sea on one side and hugged by the hills to both the city's north (San Bartolo, also a nature reserve) and south (Ardizio, dividing Pesaro from Fano), allowing for a mild climate year-round. This climate is considered to be Cfa (humid subtropical climate ) according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification.

History and culture
In Pesaro interesting historical happenings gave origin to a singular combination of artistic and cultural witnesses, starting from the Roman period to that age, the Renaissance, which gave a particular and unmistakable mark to the city; during the XVIII century Pesaro was characterized by a new energy reaching its peak by means of Gioacchino Rossini and its operas, which also today, by means of the Rossini Opera Festival (ROF), are able to attract tourists and passionate people from all over the world.

The economy is based on craft and small and medium industries, particularly furniture as kitchen manufacturing and precision mechanics.

Pesaro, washed by the Adriatic sea, has made hospitality its vocation starting from nineteenth century and still growing, capturing the attention of guests of all types: those in search of uncrowded beaches, lovers of the arts, sports enthusiasts.
the beach - seven kilometres long - is surrounded by a beautiful and surprising environment, the Monte San Bartolo National Park.
Pesaro is also a historical centre with elegant streets that offer a particular town-atmosphere among palaces, museums, churches, fortresses, ancient and modern libraries.
